●Method 1 - Change S in Minecraft

Step 1: If you want to change spawn point, you need NBTedit

Step 2: Now, you can go to the location of your new, in-game. Be sure you have at least one empty block above you, and a little room to breathe. at the same time, open NBTEdit.

In your world's folder is a file called "level.dat". It helps to make a shortcut to your Saves folder, and a lot of the people who actively use this forum will probably already have one.

Step 4: Then you should Expand the "Data" tree by clicking the "+" sign next to it. You should note the three "Spawn" entries. These are the coordinates of your current spawn location.

Step 5: After that expand the "Player" tree, and the "Pos" tree inside of that by clicking the "+" signs next to them.

Step 6: These three numbers in the "Pos" tree are your current location. You want your spawn point to match these numbers.

Step 7: In your head, subtract .5 from the top number, round to the nearest whole number, and paste it over the current number in " above.

Step 9: In your head, subtract .5 from the bottom number, round to the nearest whole number, and paste it over the current number in "above.

Step 10: You subtract .5, because you actually spawn half a block higher than your spawn values. You round to the nearest whole number because spawn values must be whole numbers. And then File -> Save your level.dat

To my knowledge, the best (and only) way to change your spawn is through a map editor. The minecraftwiki(.net) has a page about map editing and I can reccomend NBT Forge for general purpose map editing and MCEdit for more specialized editing (ie copying structures, etc.).

Yes you can change your spawn point using different programs you can find in the "mapping and modding" section. I'm not sure which program would be the best as I've never needed/wanted to change mine but there should be a program you can use in there.
